Biography

Since 2013, Amy Jones (BA/08) has served as the Event Manager at the Stu Clark Centre for Entrepreneurship (SCCE). In this role, she leads the organization of major competitions, including the Stu Clark New Venture Championships for graduate, undergraduate, Pitch Competitions for Asper and Non-Asper students, and a pitch workshop for high school students. Amy has also planned several overseas study trips for the University of Manitoba's MBA International Study program in places such as Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, and Switzerland.

Prior to joining the SCCE, Amy worked as a Marketing & Events Coordinator at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights from 2008 to 2013. During this time, she played an instrumental role in organizing large-scale events, including the museum's participation in CentrePlace Manitoba for the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Vancouver, as well as the unveiling of the cornerstone event attended by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth in July 2010.

Amy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba, which she earned in 2008 while also training as a triathlete with the Manitoba National Triathlon Centre from 2000 to 2009. She was a three-time Canadian Junior Duathlon Champion (2001, 2002, and 2005) and placed second at the Junior Nationals Triathlon Championships in 2004. In 2004 and 2005, Amy represented Canada at the ITU Junior World Triathlon Championships in Portugal and Japan, respectively. Additionally, during her time at the University of Manitoba, Amy was a member of the Bison Cross Country team.

Amy also pursued further education and obtained a Marketing Management diploma from Red River College in 2015. Outside of work, she is a retired spin instructor and a certified Ashtanga yoga teacher. Furthermore, Amy is a member of the Young Associates.
