Professor Notz's primary teaching and research interests are in the extension and application of theories of cognition, conflict and motivation to understanding the behaviour of organizational participants. His research has been published in Administrative Science Quarterly, the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, American Psychologist, Human Relations, Research in Organizational Behaviour, Journal of Organizational Behaviour Management and numerous chapters in books. His recent research has focused on the relationship between managerial reward and punishment behaviour and misattribution of causality. His long standing research interest in conflict management has recently focused on structural factors that impact on conflict behaviour and the conflict aftermath.
