ANNUAL GIFTS

Commitment and consistency. These are the hallmarks of annual giving, and Asper alumni and friends alike appreciate how important it is to support the School with regular contributions. These days, tuition and government grants do not cover all costs – and certainly don’t leave anything for the extras that make the Asper experience exceptional. Annual gifts make the difference. Your participation is important to us.

The Asper Endowment Fund

Our roots go way back. Our vision extends far into the future.

Endowments are among the most effective vehicles a university can use to build and maintain long-term quality. A well-designed endowment attracts talented undergraduate and graduate students, provides for library and laboratory acquisitions, furthers research goals and supplements faculty salaries.

MATCHING GIFTS

Did you know that your employer may be able to double your donation through a matching gift? If your employer has a matching gift program, your gift can be doubled to support generous scholarships and bursaries, top-notch facilities and outstanding programs at the University of Manitoba.

We can help research the details and assist you in planning an appropriate matching gift.

MEMORIAL GIFTS

Some donors establish a scholarship, bursary or fellowship in honour of an inspirational teacher or beloved family member. We’d be pleased to discuss options with you that meet your needs and support deserving students.

UNRESTRICTED GIFTS

Because almost all the School’s income is directed to a specific academic program within the School, unrestricted income is critical to enable the Dean to direct resources where they are most needed. However, unrestricted gifts are rare – and particularly appreciated. By making your donation unrestricted, you demonstrate confidence in the School and recognize the planning expertise of its leaders.

• An endowment to support a full graduate fellowship at the doctoral level can be created with a gift of $470,000.
• An endowment to support a faculty professorship can be created with a gift of $750,000.
• An endowment to support a faculty chair can be created with a gift of $3,000,000.
