Founded in 1937 as the University of Manitoba Department of Commerce
Renamed the I. H. Asper School of Business in 2000
The Drake Centre has been home to the I. H. Asper School since 1987
The I.H. Asper School of Business was accredited by the Association of Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 1999 and was reaccredited in 2009. Less than 5% of business schools worldwide earn this international recognition.

New Executive Education Program has been established in 2009. In February, 2011, Executive Development will move from the Fort Garry campus to 177 Lombard; the historic executive offices of The Great-West Life Assurance Company. This move will expand the reach of the Asper School of Business into the community and increase the School’s profile.
The Asper School’s International Exchange Program is the largest faculty based exchange program at the University of Manitoba with a total of 26 partner schools in Asia, Europe, North and South America.
