History

  • Founded in 1937 as the University of Manitoba Department of Commerce
  • Renamed the I. H. Asper School of Business in 2000
  • The Drake Centre has been home to the I. H. Asper School since 1987
  • The Asper MBA was established in 1968
  • The Asper School of Business was accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 1999 and was reaccredited in 2009 and 2015. Less than 5% of business schools worldwide earn this international recognition.

Executive Education Program was established in 2009. It is located at 177 Lombard, the historic executive offices of The Great-West Life Assurance Company. This has expanded the reach of the Asper School of Business into the community and has increased the School’s profile.

The Asper School’s International Exchange Program is the largest faculty based exchange program at the University of Manitoba with over 40 partner schools in Asia, Europe, North and South America.
