The Disability, Culture and Diversity Research Group assumes an interdisciplinary approach in examining the factors that facilitate and constrain healthy lifestyles for people with disabilities across the lifespan. This area of research is well developed within the Research Institute. A number of disciplines are associated with the group, including: Physical Education, Recreation Studies, Educational Psychology, Sociology, Gerontology, and Family Studies. Beyond these linkages on campus, the Disability, Culture and Diversity Research Group has an extensive network of community partners (e.g., government, not for profit agencies). Most notably, members of the group have collaborated on two recent SSHRC grants-the second of which was funded by the Interdisciplinary Panel.
