During our peak times (Fall and Winter), Recreation Services offers 18 different types of free Group Fitness Classes and over 50 free Group Fitness Classes each week. Over the lunch hour we offer 24 free Group Fitness Classes in both 45 and 30 minute formats. We have revamped our weekend classes and are now offering 8 free Group Fitness Classes in both 45 and 30 minute formats. We have expanded our “after 4:30 PM” classes to 15 free Group Fitness Classes in both 45 and 30 minute formats and our early morning free Group Fitness Classes are now offered 4 days per week in both 60 and 45 minute formats.
In order to keep and add classes to our free Group Fitness Class schedule, we need to have a certain number of participants. We track each class’s numbers and if a class is only getting 3 participants, we are unfortunately unable to keep it on the schedule.
Rec Services also offers over 50 Adult Instructional programs, which members and non-members can register for but these programs are in the same spaces of the free Group Fitness Classes. We do our best to find a balance between the two types of programs and add free classes where we can when there are participants attending.
The holiday and spring-summer free Group Fitness Class schedule is reduced as a large number of our participants (students/staff) are not on campus during this time of year, however, we have expanded the schedule and added Group Fitness Classes.
You may register for our Adult Programs after they have started at a pro-rated rate. Some programs are progressive and do not allow registrations past a certain point in the program but this is a small percentage.
We are continually looking for opportunities to improve your experience as Recreation Services members and value your feedback! If you missed the opportunity to provide feedback please visit our Member Feedback webpage.
