Group Fitness Program Series

FREE classes with your membership! Group fitness classes are offered to our membership and day-pass users at no additional charge. Registration for classes is not required and all ability levels are welcome.

All of our group fitness instructors are accredited through the Manitoba Fitness Council (MFC) and other national/international organizations ensuring that you are getting quality instruction that is safe, effective and enjoyable. The MFC is the acknowledged standard for fitness leaders in the province of Manitoba.

The group fitness classes are available all year long and vary in content and intensity including low to high; muscle to cardio; interval to continuous; flexibility to strength; and combinations of each. The bulk of our classes are available from September to April where we offer over 50 classes each week at our Fort Garry campus and 10 classes at our Bannatyne campus. Group fitness classes are also available during the spring and summer sessions on a reduced schedule.

Informal Recreation

Informal Recreation promotes healthy lifestlye choices through unstructured, drop-in use of recreation and fitness facilities provided by Recreation Services.  Informal Recreation is the foundation of Recreation Services and allows members to independently participate in recreation and fitness activities at their leisure to improve their health and wellbeing. We currently offer over 800 hours per week of convenient gym, pool, ice-rink, court sport and studio times for informal recreation.  Some of the activities that you can try during these times include:

  • Court sports including tennis, badminton, squash, racquetball and table tennis
  • Volleyball, basketball and walleyball
  • Leisure skating and stick and puck skating
  • Lane swimming and diving
  • Circuit training

Women, Non-Binary & Trans Only Recreation

We are pleased to offer Women's only time in our pool and Women, Non-Binary & Trans only time in our circuit training studio.  Women & non-binary only times will be clearly displayed in our weekly schedules when available.
