DAY 1: Thursday, August 6th 2009:

 

5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – Registration at the desk in front of E2-223 room

 

Session #1

6:30 p.m.to 6:45 p.m. – Opening statements by Sandra Webber,
Chair of the E POWC 2009 Organizing Committee

6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – student presentations

7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - Keynote Speaker: Dr. Jennifer Copeland, Ph.D.,
Associate Professor, Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education,
University of Lethbridge
The Successful Aging Paradox: Exercise and Endocrine Function”

8:30 p.m. onwards- SOCIAL ACTIVITIES-
Location:  Pony Corral 1700 Pembina Hwy
Snacks will be provided.

This restaurant is a moderate walk from the University. Bus number 60 will take you there. A map with directions to the restaurant is attached in the booklet. We will be leaving for the Bar immediately after the lecture and will organize rides for people looking for a ride.

 

DAY 2: Friday, August 7th 2009:

7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
Breakfast - Food will be served at E2-223 room.

8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. – student presentations

10:00 a.m.to 10:30 a.m.: BREAK
Coffee and snacks will be served at E2-223 room.

 

Session #3

10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. – student presentations

12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.: LUNCH
Food will be served at E2-223 room.

 

Session #4

1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. – student presentations

2:30 p.m.to 3:00 p.m.: BREAK
Snacks will be served at E2-223 room.

 

Session #5

3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. – student presentations

3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Keynote Speaker: Dr. Levesque, Ph.D.,

“Community-Based Physical Activity Interventions: Challenges and Opportunities for Evaluation”

4:30 p.m. onwards:
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES- Location:  CanWest Park.

Watch the Winnipeg Goldeyes trounce the Schaumburg Flyers while dining on the patio at Hu's on First Asian Bistro, overlooking right field!!!! Game starts at 7:00 pm. Dinner will be provided.

We have arranged for a bus to pick us up at the Max Bell Centre at 6:30pm. After the baseball game ends, the bus will return to the University of Manitoba at 10:00. 


DAY 3: Saturday, August 8th 2009:

7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. – Breakfast
