Please speak with a Student Supervisor or the Leadership & Community Program Coordinator if you would like to become or get in contact with our Volunteer staff.

Education: Volunteers are typically high school students looking to gain more experience working with children and developing leadership skills.

Experience & General Role:

Many of our volunteers have completed our ‘Senior Leaders In Training’ summer program prior to applying for a summer position with the programs. After successfully being selected by our administration staff, volunteers get paired up with one of our Student Leaders as a mentor during their experience with us. Their assigned Leader will guide and mentor the volunteer to progressively become involved with the children during program activities, assist with group management and activity preparations, lead physical activity games and eventually leading portions of the recreational lesson plans during the day.

Volunteers have the opportunity to become leaders within the Mini U Programs while enjoying the fun of summer camp such as swimming, classroom, sport and recreational activities.

Many of our volunteers continue on to become university students and a part of the Leader team with Mini U Programs.

Favorite Camp Activities: Leading games for younger children, swimming, and hanging out with university students.
