Education/Certifications/Awards: Bachelor of Recreation Management and Community Development – University of Manitoba, Non Violent Crisis Intervention, Emergency First Aide and CPR Level C.

Experience with Children:
Kaylee brings 5 years of experience working with children and youth of all ages. Upon High School Graduation, she accepted an exchange program opportunity in Montreal Quebec, where she was employed as a camp leader for the summer. After returning from Montreal, she began studying at the University of Manitoba and after her first year of University accepted a summer student position with Child and Family Services as a Camp Coordinator for the Chance 2 Camp Program in Portage la Prairie.

Kaylee began her career at the University of Manitoba as a student in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management and as a Customer Service Representative for Active Living. Her love of sport and physical activity led her to seek out employment with Mini U Programs upon graduation. As the Sport Program Coordinator, she has developed specific learning outcomes for all sport specific programs, created a new scheduling system to improve the use of space on campus, and has developed and implemented lesson plans and curriculums. After three years in the position, Kaylee has implemented successful programs such as Xtreme Adventures, Outdoor Explorers, Track and Field and Tryout Prep programs. Her customer service experience within the Faculty has allowed for more thorough training for student staff during orientation and her knowledge of creating and managing schedules has allowed for new program opportunities both during Spring Break Camps and Summer Programming.

Moving forward Kaylee looks to continue to provide a variety of new and exciting opportunities for children and youth to engage in physical activity in an inclusive environment and to encourage and motivate children and their families to lead active and healthy lifestyles.

As the Sport Program Coordinator, Kaylee works closely with:

  • Supervisor staff regarding program delivery (content, lessons, learning outcomes, ages etc.) and the supervision of program participants and the management of staff.
  • Leader Staff regarding program delivery, customer service, safety and leadership of children.
  • Customers regarding program details and services.
  • University staff regarding space allocation, equipment rentals, the safety and security of participants, staff recruitment and retention.
  • Members of the Community and Provincial Sport Organizations regarding program development, lesson planning, staff hiring and best practices.
