Mission Statement

Children's Programs:

1. Develops educated leaders in children/youth physical activity
2. Provides excellent and inclusive recreation/sport and educational experiences to young people
3. Promotes the Faculty of Kinesiology and Recreation Management and the University of Manitoba as destinations for post secondary education
4. Contributes to the creation and dissemination of physical activity knowledge.

Vison

To be recognized locally and nationally as a leader in providing evidence-based programs while actively collaborating in the creation and dissemination of physical activity knowledge. Children's Programs develops excellent, innovative leaders and provides stimulating, quality programs for children /youth that reflect the values of inclusiveness, fair play and healthy development.

    

Special Interest Fieldtrips (May 30 - June 28)

Students will experience hands-on activities focused on a specific area of interest. PE activities can also be scheduled.

Special Interest Activities

MythBusters: Help prove or bust myths through fun, hands-on science experiments. Ages 7-16

Kid-Netic Energy: Scientific and fun experiments from engineering and other science areas. Ages 9-12 (*Only offered from June 18-22)

Kickstart my Art: Students will use their imagination during creative activities, such as painting, drawing or sculpting. Ages 7-16

Body Works!: Get introduced to the amazing human body... and the professions that know it best: Athletic Therapy and Nursing. Ages 9-13

Active Gamers: See how strategies and tactics relate across a variety of games like board and card games, and game shows! (*No video games will be included in this program) Ages 7-16

Architectural Wonders: Explore mythical architecture and wondrous fabrications! Ages 8-11

Say Cheese!: Capture moments around the University while learning about lighting, exposure settings and much more. Ages 7-16

Come and experience fun and unique physical activities at the University! Groups of students rotate through various activities led by Mini-U instructors.
