My field of research, adapted physical activity, is a multidisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary area of study aimed at the advancement of applied and scientific knowledge related to physical and health education, physical activity/sport, recreation/leisure, and (dis)ability. I approach these questions from a socio-cultural perspective. Given that the premise of inclusiveness in the field of adapted physical activity is to attain social justice, equity, access, and inclusion for everyone, I have broadened my area of study to work with diverse groups of people. My current focus is on individuals experiencing disabilities, Indigenous peoples, and newcomers to promote social justice and cultural sustainability in various physical activity settings.
