Research is important in the Faculty of Human Ecology. Our researchers consistantly bring in research dollars from the highly competitve national agencies such as NSERC (National Sciences and Engineering Recearch Council of Canada), SHERC (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada), as well as CIHR (Canadina Institute of Health Research). We also develop collaborative research projects with industry, government agencies as well as other units on the U of M campus.
The focus of the Faculty of Human Ecology is health promotion for Canadian families. Our research reflects that. Our research program includes everything from family violence, diet and kidney disease, to medicat textiles. Our research benefits Canadian people by affecting new social policies and scientific practices.
