12th
Annual Child and Family Research Symposium
( April 7, 2006)
The
Child and Family Research Symposium is an annual event organized
by the graduate students in the Department of Family Studies. Participants,
who may be students or faculty, present their ongoing research,
take part in discussions on the research and publication process,
and attend lectures by keynote speakers.
This year's Symposium was a great success. We had more than 90 registrants, 12 paper presentations, and 62 posters.
Our keynote speaker was Dr. Murray Straus, Co-Director of the Family Research Laboratory at the University of New Hampshire. He presented data from the International Dating Violence Study, which is comparing rates of dating and partner violence across 32 countries.
