    Research summary

    Dr. Barclay's research is focused on health-related quality of life, community ambulation and participation after stroke and with older adults. Her other areas of interest include response shift in health-related quality of life, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, and winter walking. She is currently funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research for two randomized controlled trials and a secondary analysis on community ambulation and physical activity in older adults.

    Biography

    Dr. Ruth Barclay is a professor in the department of physical therapy at the College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba. She is also a physiotherapist with clinical experience in a variety of areas, primarily including stroke rehabilitation. She has presented her research work internationally at quality of life, aging and physiotherapy conferences.

      • Conferred for the outstanding contribution of the article "Response shift: a brief overview and proposed research priorities," featured in Quality of Life Research journal.
