Brian is from Red Deer, Alberta. He obtained a B.Sc. (Immunology and Infection) from the University of Alberta. He undertook a Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine, with a focus on early-life immune development, at the University of British Columbia, and then embarked on his M.D. training at University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine. Brian is now a proud member of the University of Manitoba Urology Program. His interests outside of medicine include most sports, excluding polo. Chun obtained his M.D. from the University of Saskatchewan. During that time, he was involved with design and commissioning of the biomedical beam line at the Canadian Light Source Synchrotron. His love of technology and its integration into surgery initially drew him to Urology, where his interests include oncology and robotics. Outside of work, his hobbies include: his garage workshop, painting, and snowboarding.
Jas was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, where he graduated in 2010 from the University of Winnipeg with a degree in Biochemistry. He then went on to pursue undergraduate medical training at the University of Manitoba graduating in 2015 with combined MD and BScMed degrees. Subsequently, he joined the University of Manitoba Urology program and holds interests in Oncology as well as Endourology/Minimally Invasive Surgery. In his spare time he enjoys playing pool, poker, and football as well as traveling and socializing with family and friends.
Justin is from Stephenville, Newfoundland, ’the rock’. He obtained his BSc (Biology) from Mount Allison University. He then completed his MD at Memorial University of Newfoundland. In 2016 he joined the Urology residency program at the University of Manitoba. His only interests include fishing and listening to sea shanties. Mohammad was born and raised in Iran, but immigrated to Saskatchewan, Canada as a teenager. It was there that he studied biochemistry and went on to complete his Medical Doctorate. Afterwards he undertook a research fellowship at McMaster University. Through his experiences, he has developed an interest in Urology and joined our program in December of 2016. Mohammad is interested in a broad spectrum of research topics, including bench and clinical multidisciplinary studies. Outside of medicine, Mohammad enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, playing sports, travelling, cooking and exploring the food scene. Premal grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick and obtained his Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Ottawa. He then went on to the University of Calgary where he completed his MD. In 2013 he joined the Urology residency program at the University of Manitoba. Apart from medicine, Premal avidly participates in GT snow racing and public skating. Samir is a small town boy from Toronto, Ontario. He obtained his BSc from McMaster University. He then obtained his MD from the University of Ottawa through the francophone stream. He then went on to join the Urology residency program at the University of Manitoba in 2016. His interests include weightlifting and spending quality time with his fellow residents.
