Dr. Nayak received his undergraduate training from the University of Manitoba, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He then enrolled at the University of Manitoba MD program, concurrently earning a BSc in Medicine and his MD. He completed Urology training at the University of Manitoba. Following residency, Dr. Nayak completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington where he also gained experience in health services research.
In 2016, Dr. Nayak joined the faculty at the University of Manitoba where he specializes in urologic oncology. His clinical interests include the early detection, diagnosis and management of genitourinary malignancies and he is comprehensively trained in complex open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Dr. Nayak has a primary research focus on kidney, bladder and prostate cancer with specific interests in: health services and comparative effectiveness research as well as studying ways to improve patient-centered communication and decisional support.
