Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Health Sciences Centre Site

The Health Sciences Centre (HSC) is of the two tertiary care academic hospitals which are formal clinical partners of the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine. It is located in Winnipeg. The clinical services at the HSC are administered through the HSC Child and Adolescent Mental Health Program, which is housed in the PsycHealth Centre, a free standing structure opened in 1993.

Services available at the HSC run the spectrum of both inpatient and outpatient, intensive and elective diagnostic and treatment services.  The services found specifically at the HSC Site include: Emergency Psychiatric Services, Inpatient Psychiatric Services, Child and Adolescent Acute Assessment Services/Intensive Child and Adolescent Treatment Services, Outpatient Mental Health Services, Consult Liaison Service, Eating Disorders Service, and the Autism Service.  The services are comprised of multi-disciplinary teams with at least one and often more attending psychiatrists providing teaching, clinical consultation, treatment and case management in active collaboration with nurses and other allied health members.
