The Manitoba Pediatric Society (MPS) is a group of pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists and other stakeholders working on encouraging the provision of optimal pediatric care in Manitoba by providing opportunities for advocacy, education, philanthropy and collegiality for pediatric health professionals.
Advocacy: We will advocate for the health of children in Manitoba by creating a forum for important issues to be raised and addressed, taking action as needed. We will support resident advocacy projects by providing a venue for them to raise awareness and provide feedback and/or support to enhance the success of their advocacy project. We will support issues raised by the Canadian Pediatric Society, with special attention to concerns affecting the children of Manitoba.
Education: We will provide opportunities for Continuing Professional Development around the interests of the membership.
Philanthropy: We will financially support causes that are beneficial to the children of Manitoba as determined by the majority of the membership based on established criteria of merit.
Networking: We will have regular meetings a minimum of six times per year as well as the annual Resident Graduation Dinner to enhance social networking opportunities and collegiality.
The management of the activities and affairs of MPs are supervised by the Executive who will be composed of the following elected members:
Terms of OfficeThe term of the office for every elected executive shall be two (2) years and every such executive is eligible to be appointed for a second term by the membership. A notice of appointment shall be posted to the membership newsletter asking for comments from the members in requested of every executive eligible to be appointed for a second term of two (2) years.
