Blake Ball heads Canada’s National Laboratory for HIV Immunology, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba, Canada and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Nairobi, Kenya. His main research interests have been trying to understand susceptibility to infectious diseases, specifically HIV-1 and Tuberculosis. Blake is a mucosal immunologist with over 16 years experience in studies of innate and adaptive immune responses to HIV and other Pathogens. Understanding the mechanisms of why some individuals control or resist infectious agents is critical information for the development of vaccines, diagnostics and public health interventions.
