Community Health Sciences


Sharon Bruce is a professor and Department Head of Community Health Sciences, College of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences.  Dr. Bruce’s primary research areas are diabetes epidemiology, the relationship between stress and diabetes, diabetes prevention, and changing the organization and structure of chronic disease health services for First Nations people. Her research is guided by participatory frameworks and she works in partnership with First Nations communities and NGO’s (local, national and global).  Her work is supported by a cadre of exceptional undergraduate and graduate students, and faculty colleagues.
