Mariette J. Chartier PhD, is a Senior Research Scientist at MCHP and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. University of Manitoba.
Her career extends from clinical nursing, mental health research, early childhood policy development, to population health.
Her research interests are prevention and early intervention programs for children and their parents, mental health promotion, child abuse and neglect, perinatal health, health risk behaviours, and health of vulnerable populations. She has published in the area of mental health, early childhood development, child physical and sexual abuse, as well as prevention and intervention programs for children.
With First Nations partners, Dr. Chartier is currently leading a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) funded study of a school-based mental health promotion strategy for First Nations youth and overseeing a report on the health of First Nations children in Manitoba.
