Position: Health Promoter, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and Family Abuse Prevention Programs
I develop, implement, and evaluate programs throughout Northwestern Ontario related to FASD and family abuse prevention. I form collaborations and networks with health and social service agencies to ensure that programs are accessible to people throughout the region. Courses that I took as a Family Social Sciences student have given me a good foundation in issues related to FASD and family violence. I am finding the knowledge that I gained from my program development and program evaluation courses to be very useful.
Employer: Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada – Manitoba Division
Position: Rural Client Services Coordinator
I plan, coordinate and implement programs and services in rural communities to ensure the needs of people affected by multiple sclerosis are met. I mainly work in the following areas: information and referral; funding; education (providing public presentations and assist in coordinating the Rural Education Conferences); support, counseling and consultation (including facilitating support groups and acting as a resource to self-help groups); and social and recreational programming.

Position: Resource Coordinator, Home Care Program
As a member of the Home Care Team, I supervise and ensure the efficient and effective delivery of personal care and home support services to clients by coordinating Direct Service Staff (Home Care Attendants and Home Support Workers). I am responsible for meeting the caseload needs of my team by identifying recruitment needs; and assigning, scheduling, supervising and evaluating staff. I review service requests and match Direct Service Staff to clients, ensuring that staff are appropriately skilled for each individual situation.
