Outgoing graduate student

Enrolled in a graduate program at the University of Manitoba

3-6 months (minimum 90 days – can be divided)

Can demonstrate community engagement

Graduate student in good standing at the University of Manitoba

<35 years of age at the time of application

Able to show financial capacity beyond the QES award to ensure successful completion of the international training placement

Work/study on a full-time basis at the partner institution

Feasible health-related research activities with commitment from host mentor

Demonstrate how international placement contributes to credit

 

7-12 months (minimum 180 days – can be divided)

$8000

Outgoing undergraduate or health professional students

Enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of an undergraduate program or health professional program at the University of Manitoba

3-6 months (minimum 90 days)

•Canadian Citizen or permanent resident

•Can demonstrate community engagement

•Undergraduate (3rd or 4th year) or health professional student in good standing at the University of Manitoba

•<35 years of age at the time of application

•Able to show financial capacity beyond the QES award to ensure successful completion of the international training placement

•Work/study on a full-time basis at the partner institution

•Feasible health-related activities with commitment from host mentor

Placement must contribute to university credit (ex. Field placement course, BSc Med, Senior thesis)

Incoming graduate student from Commonwealth countries

Enrolled at a University in a commonwealth country

3-6 months

Funding for flight, $1200/month living expenses, and tuition

Citizen of a Commonwealth country (anyone who has applied for Canadian citizenship or permanent residency is not eligible)

•Enrolled in a Graduate program in a Commonwealth country

•Graduate student in good standing

•<35 years of age at the time of application

 

Enrolled as a full-time graduate student at the University of Manitoba

Duration of academic program (with annual renewal reports)  dependent on program funding status

Funding includes $1200/month living allowance and tuition

(additional costs may be covered on a student-by-student basis)
