Dr. Maureen Heaman, PhD, RN
Dr. Maureen Heaman is a Professor in the College of Nursing, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with part-time nil appointments in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences and the Department of Community Health Sciences, College of Medicine. She obtained her Bachelor of Nursing and Master of Nursing from the University of Manitoba, and completed her PhD in the Individual Interdisciplinary Program in 2001.  She holds a Research Scientist appointment with the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy, a Scientist appointment with the children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba, and a Research Affiliate appointment with the Manitoba Centre for Nursing and Health Research.  Her research interests include maternal health, utilization and quality of prenatal care, perinatal surveillance and epidemiology, risk factors for preterm birth, and psychosocial and behavioral aspects of pregnancy.
