The Interventional Cardiology group as part of the Cardiac Sciences Program offers a wide variety of endovascular cardiac procedures to the people of the province of Manitoba based largely at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg.

As a premier program within the Division of Cardiology, we have established a reputation of excellence. The quality of our care and of our outcomes are well-known and respected in the medical community. There are 3 dedicated Cardiac catherization laboratories at St. Boniface Hospital that perform 5500 diagnostic coronary angiograms with 2500 coronary angioplasty procedures per year, which make our facility amongst the high volume centers across the country. Our group of six interventionalists are considered high volume operators (>300 coronary angioplasty procedures per year). We offer a comprehensive 24/7 Code STEMI program and perform well over 700 STEMI interventions per year. As an academic interventional group, we have established a formal and active clinical and basic science research mandate. We are currently involved in multiple national and international clinical trials.
