Eligibility
Eligibility for PRA-FP:
  • Preference will be given to established residents of the Province of Manitoba
  • IMG physicians must meet the requirements for conditional licensure
  • Pass standing of the following Medical Council of Canada Examinations (results must be submitted by application deadline of August 15, 2017)
    • MCCEE
    • MCCQE1
    • NAC OSCE or MCCQE2
  • Must show evidence of Currency in Practice - minimum of 3 years of independent clinical practice as General/Family Practitioner within 5 years immediately preceding the application deadline.  Applicants without general or family practice training and/or experience will not be considered. 
  • English fluency, spoken and written, as evidenced by one of the following exams:
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) –TOEFL-iBT with a total score of 96 and with a minimum score of 24 in each component
    • International English Language Testing System (IELTS - Academic Module) with a minimum score of 7 in each component and with an overall band score of no less than 7
    • Exams dated prior to September 1, 2015 or after September 1, 2017 will not be accepted

Eligibility for MLPIMG:

  1. Permanent resident (landed immigrant) or Canadian citizen
  2. Preference will be given to established residents of the Province of Manitoba
  3. Minimum of 1 year of postgraduate medical education acceptable to the CPSM
  4. Pass standing of the following Medical Council of Canada Examinations (results must be submitted by application deadline of September 1, 2017):
    • MCCEE
    • MCCQE1
    • NAC OSCE
  5. Must have 1 year (12 months) independent practice experience working as a physician in general practice, family medicine or primary care. Postgraduate training (internship/residency) does not count towards this requirement
  6. Must show evidence of Currency in Practice – minimum of 12 consecutive months of independent clinical practice as a General/Family Practitioner in 5 years immediately preceding the application deadline (September 1, 2017)
  7. English fluency, spoken and written, as evidenced by one of the following exams:
    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) –TOEFL-iBT with a total score of 96 and with a minimum score of 24 in each component
