Communication skills
Upon request, we provide communication skills for health professions learners. The overall goal of these sessions is to enable learners to acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes associated with a patient centered approach to care. The sessions are based on the Calgary-Cambridge Guides which help learners communicate effectively and sensitively with patients, families, and other health care providers.

Consulting services are also provided to colleges and departments within the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences.

Individual remediation in communication skills are available upon consultation. 

Sessions can include any of the following topics:

  • Patient-centered approach
  • Calgary-Cambridge guides
  • CanMeds communicator role
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Disclosing medical error
  • Breaking bad news
