How do you book a session in the CLSF?

All users require approval prior to using the CLSF. Room booking requests are made via our online booking form. The link to our online booking form can be found at www.umanitoba.ca/clsf.

Will someone be able to assist me with the setup of my session?

All sessions are assigned a simulation technician who will assist with set up of the session.  Your assigned simulation technician will contact the session organizer in advance of the session to confirm set up requirements. Should your session require more than one simulation technician (ie, multiple drivers), be sure to indicate this on your booking request.

What is the process for recording a session booked in the CLSF?

To request video recording to a previously booked and confirmed session, email clsfroombook@umanitoba.ca. To request video recording for a new session, please use our online booking form available from our home page.

Are lockers available for use by session participants

In the CLSF, (000 Brodie) a limited number of lockers are available. University of Manitoba students are strongly encouraged to leave their belongings in their lockers.

In the Skills Lab,  (211 Basic Medical Sciences Building) coin operated lockers are available at a cost of twenty-five cents.

How do you book a walking tour of the CLSF?

Tour requests require approval in advance. Tour requests should include the approximate number of guests. All requests are to be made via email to clsfroombook@umanitoba.ca. and should be made at least one week in advance. 

Can students book space for OSCE practice?

Given the volume of students completing OSCEs, we are unable to accommodate booking requests for rooms in the Clinical Learning and Simulation Facility for OSCE practice. 

Rooms 202, 203, 206, 207, 208, 210, 213, 214, 217, 218, 219, 221 in the Basic Medical Science Building are equipped with resources similar to those available in exam rooms found in the Clinical Learning and Simulation Facility.  These rooms may be booked using the following site: www.umanitoba.ca/roombooking/.

Medical Equipment Kits are available for short term loan from the Neil John Maclean Health Sciences Library.  Each kit contains:

  • 1x Reflex Percussion Hammer. 1x Babinski Hammer. 1x C125 Tuning Fork. 1x Pen Light. 1x Rosenbaum Pocket Eye Chart. 1x 6” Ruler. 1x Tape Measure. 1x Carrying case
  • 2 Piece Blood Pressure kit. 1x Aneroid Gauge. 1x Cuff Size 11
  • 1 container of Oxivir TB Cavi Wipes
  • 1 Bag

How do you book a demonstration of clinical skills, simulation equipment or task trainers for middle or high school students.

Presently, the CLSF cannot accommodate requests from schools for such sessions.  If the event organizers have recruited physician or healthcare professional volunteers to lead the session, then they are welcome to complete our online booking form to request rooms and resources.

Are food or drinks permitted?

In the CLSF, (000 Brodie) food is not permitted in rooms 1-14.  Drinks are only permitted in the rooms provided: a) they are in leak proof or spill proof containers; b) the room does not involve the use of electronic simulation equipment.

Are rooms available for coffee or lunch breaks for my session?

Unfortunately, food or drink is not permitted in our clinical learning spaces.  An alternate location outside the CLSF or Skills Lab should be booked for breaks.  Other rooms on campus may be booked via the following website.
