Canadian Graduate & Professional Students Survey (CGPSS)


Thank you for your interest in the Canadian Graduate and Professional Students Survey 2016


The CGPSS is taking place at many universities across Canada. The survey asks students to evaluate their overall experience at the University of Manitoba, as well as program-specific aspects of their educational experience.

Survey results will be used to improve your experience and that of graduate students to come.

Graduate students who complete the survey will have the chance to win one of 20 fantastic prizes, including:

  • one prize of $1,000 cash
  • one prize of $500 cash
  • one prize of three prizes of $250 cash
  • one prize of five $100 University of Manitoba Bookstore gift certificates
  • one prize of ten $50 University of Manitoba Bookstore gift certificates

Check your email account. The survey link and access code will be emailed to all Graduate and Professional Students starting March 2, 2016.
The survey closes on March 30, 2016.

Official Contest Rules:

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

  1. Contest Period
    Canadian Graduate and Professional Students Survey Contest ("the Contest") starts on March 2, 2016, and closes on March 30, 2016 (the "Contest Period").

  2. General Eligibility
    The Contest is open to all University of Manitoba Graduate Students who are 18 years or older at the time of entry and who have submitted an on-line survey requesting entry into the Contest

    Excluded from eligibility are any employees of the Faculty of Graduate Studies within the University of Manitoba, Such persons are encouraged to complete the Survey, but are not eligible to enter the Contest.

  3. Prizes
    Prizes include:

    A. 1 prize of $1,000 cash
    B. 1 prize of $500 cash
    C. 1 of 3 prizes of $250 cash
    D. 1 of 5 $100 University of Manitoba Bookstore gift certificates
    E. 1 of 10 $50 University of Manitoba Bookstore gift certificates

    A Prize must be accepted as awarded and no prize substitutions or prize transfers will be allowed.

  4. Online Entry
    To enter the Contest, Eligible Participants must complete:

    (a) the Survey

    Limit of one (1) Contest entry per person. In the event it is discovered that you attempted to enter more than once, then all of your entries may be void.

    By entering the Contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by the Official Contest Rules set out herein, and accept the decisions of the University of Manitoba as final and binding, without right of appeal, in all respects, including without limitation, as to eligibility and/or disqualification of entries. Entries that are incomplete, irregular, have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy any condition of these Official Contest Rules shall be disqualified without notice to the entrant.

  5. Contest Draw
    A tentative Prize winner (the “Prize Winner”) will be determined by random drawing by the Office of Institutional Analysis, on April 15, 2016.
    The odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received.

  6. Awarding of Prize
    The Prize Winner will be notified by email. The tentative prize winner will have five days to respond and arrange prize pick up. If the Faculty of Graduate Studies is not contacted by the Prize Winner within this time period another Prize Winner may be selected until the Prize has been awarded and claimed.

    To claim the Prize, the Prize Winner must:

    (a) provide proof of identification;

    (b) answer (without assistance) a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question; and

    (c) sign a declaration, waiver and release, affirming he or she has read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Official Contest Rules, grants all consents required and as contemplated by these Rules, authorizes the University of Manitoba to broadcast, publish and disseminate his or her name, likeness, voice, performance, city of residence and biographical information in connection with any promotion, publicity, or news, entertainment and/or information purposes, without further consent and without compensation, and releasing the University of Manitoba, its affiliates, representatives, employees and agents from any and all liability of any kind whatsoever arising out of the Prize Winner’s participation in the Contest and/or receipt and execution of the Prize awarded.

  7. Release
    By entering the contest, the Eligible Participants agree to release the University of from any and all liability regarding the Prize and computer related problems such as viruses, tampering, unauthorized intervention or other technical issues deemed as a result of entering the contest through electronic means.

  8. Privacy
    The entrant’s personal information is protected in accordance with the University of Manitoba’s privacy policy.

    No private information will be transferred on to any third parties and the results of the survey shall remain anonymous unless you have consented otherwise.

  9. General
    This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws including the University of Manitoba internal policies.

    By entering the contest, the entrants agree to abide by the Contest Rules and the University’s decisions with regard to this contest will be final.

    The University reserves the right to terminate this contest at its discretion. The University also reserves the right to terminate an entrant’s eligibility to participate if the entry does not meet the entrance requirements or the entrant is found to be abusing the Contest rules in any way, including electronic entry tampering.

    The University of Manitoba assumes no responsibility for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries or for any transmission, data, storage, or computer failure or failure of any kind resulting in the entry form being lost, destroyed, damaged or delivered after the close of the contest.
