Pre-Master's | M.I.D. | M.I.D. (Research)


Application Fee: $100 CDN (non-refundable)

All applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

An acceptable English Language Proficiency test score is required, if applicable. Please note that Interior Design requires scores above the FGS minimum requirement, as follows:

CAEL 70
CanTest - Listening and Reading 4.75
CanTest - Writing and Oral 4.0
IELTS 7.0
TOEFL - iBT 94

For initial assessment purposes only, copies of unofficial transcripts (uploaded to your application) are acceptable and preferred. Transcripts are required from each institution for the entire academic history, whether or not degree has been awarded, including institutions attended on an exchange. If the English copy is a translation, please include the original language as well.

Degree Certificates – All international transcripts must be accompanied by degree certificates that indicate that the degree has been awarded.


Master of Interior Design

The First-professional program is directed towards those interested in pursuing a career in Interior Design practice. The program focuses on Design Studio with the Technologies, History and Theory, and Research integrated through Design projects.

Master of Interior Design (Research)

The Post-professional program is directed to those who already hold a first-professional degree in Interior Design. The program is an opportunity for in-depth research based on a foundation of Design Inquiry Methods and may take the form of a written thesis or project.

  • 1.5 years

Pre-Master's

Students with undergraduate course deficiencies may be admitted to the Pre-Master's program to complete the background requirements.
