My responsibilities include the day-to-day operation of Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (IRMS) and its peripherals, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting, data analysis, data quality assurance, and ordering consumables. I improve and develop analytical techniques to provide better analytical services and to support the research projects. I train undergraduate and graduate students with sample preparation and stable isotope analysis for their research projects. I oversee Geochemistry Laboratory with maintaining water purification system, updating the chemical inventories and SDS, assuring the lab safety and cleanness to meet the standards by WHMIS and EHSO. As the departmental WHMIS coordinator, I communicate with EHSO, attend to annual WHMIS coordinator meetings, and provide WHMIS training sessions. I am also a member of the Faculty LASH (Local Area Safety and Health) committee.
