Introduction  
During the summer of 2017, I interviewed fifteen people from the RM of Stanley, a local government district in south-central Manitoba, about the value, use, management and future of grasslands. These were all people involved in the management of grasslands in some way and they contributed to this booklet to share their hands-on knowledge and insight. Also featured here are photos and artwork of grassland landscapes and species on the Manitoba Escarpment taken by residents of the RM of Stanley.

As you explore this region through the lenses and experiences of the people who contributed to this project, I hope you will gain an appreciation for the amazing places called grasslands.
