Program Components

The IEEQ Program provides a pathway by which internationally-educated engineers fulfill the academic qualification requirements of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba as part of the process toward registration as a P.Eng. in Manitoba.

Internationally-educated engineers in the IEEQ Program complete:

Academic Coursework:

  Senior-level technical and design courses in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Manitoba, including Engineering Economics, Practicing Professional Engineering in Manitoba, and technical and design courses chosen in the area of the Confirmatory Exams assigned by Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.

Co-op Work Experience:

  Paid employment with an employer in their engineering discipline to gain Canadian experience and begin to build a professional network.

Cultural Integration Support:

  Intensive year-long learning in the business practices, professional culture, and professional ethics of engineering in Canada, as well as language tutoring and networking opportunities with practicing engineers.


The program duration varies from individual to individual and generally is 12-24 months.
