Switch to M.Eng. Program

 

You may SWITCH from your M.Sc. program to the M.Eng. program at anytime, but you MUST

  • FIRST obtain the approval of your Academic Advisor (Professor)
  • Meet the minimum requirements for admissions
    • GPA must be at least 3.0
    • You must be in Good Academic Standing
  • The switch to the M.Eng.program, or vice versa, is subject to the approval of FGS

  1. ADVISOR:  Speak to your advisor -- Advisor & Co-Advisor permissions are required prior to switching programs 
  2. APPLICATION FORM:  Fill-in the Program Route Change Form http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/graduate_studies/media/Program_Route_Change.pdf  
  3. EXPLANATION FOR SWITCH:  A note specifying a reason behind your decision to switch programs is required. You may enter this in the "COMMENT" area of this form.
    1. Depending on your individual situation you may be asked to re-apply to the graduate program to switch programs
  4. SIGNATURES
    1. You'll need to sign the form
    2. Your Advisor and Co-Advisor must sign the form
    3. The Graduate Chair's signature is needed as the Department Representative.
  5. RETURN FORM:  to the Graduate Student Advisor for processing and submission to FGS
  6. FINAL APPROVAL:  Final Approval to switch programs is determined by FGS
  7. TUITION & FEES:  Once you are accepted into the program your Tuition & Fees will be accessed as if you are starting a new program.
    • You may now appeal these new fees at the Registrar's Office if you have already paid full tuition and fees in another program (M.Sc. or Ph.D.)
