Registering for Courses

 

ECE Graduate Courses may be found at
http://umanitoba.ca/faculties/engineering/departments/ece/curr_students/gradcourses.html

  1. Registration begins in July
    1. You may begin registering for courses and/or your program
    2. You must have permission from your advisor PRIOR to registering for a course
    3. Registration for courses which fall outside of the ECE program must be approved by
      1. your advisor
      2. AND the ECE Graduate Committee
      3. Course outline needed to approval course selection
    4. If you would like to register for a course outside this Dept. it may require the approval of that Department and/or the instructor   
      1. Email the course instructor
      2. Obtain permission to take the course from the instructor
      3. Bring the email to that department
      4. Ask for a “DEPARTMENTAL PERMISSION” form
      5. Have the form signed by that department
      6. Bring the form to me so I can register you for that course
    5. Check our ECE site for restrictions in your program

      2. Look at the right-hand navigation bar
      3. Look down to “PROGRAMS”
      4. Find your degree program
    6. If you are registering for a course as Audit, Ancillary, or Auxiliary, please come and see me.
  2. The earlier you submitted your Progress Report the earlier you will be allowed to register – if there is a “PROGRESS REPORT” HOLD on your account unfortunately, it make take a few  weeks for it to be remove.
  3. ALL STUDENTS MUST REGISTER AS 
    1. Master Registration
      GRAD 7020
      1. A01 -- usually registers you for 1 Term
      2. A02 -- usually registers you for 1 Year
    2. Ph.D. Registration
      GRAD 8020
      1. A01 -- usually registers you for 1 Term
      2. A02 -- usually registers you for 1 Year

 

 

Please DO NOT register as “thesis”, “candidacy”, etc. those codes are entered by FGS and Registrar once you’ve completed that milestone and will eventually appear on your final transcripts.
