Civil Engineering graduates with previous engineering work experience have greater success in finding good jobs after graduation. They also have higher starting wages. However, many students have difficulty finding summer employment in the engineering sector.
The Civil Engineering Co-op program assists students in getting quality engineering work experience before graduation. Co-op provides a combination of education and experience by alternating academic terms with work terms. Students graduate with full academic standing, and credit for at least 3 work terms.
Co-op provides valuable work experience, the opportunity to learn new skills, contacts in the industry and an opportunity to explore different career opportunities. It also provides a competitive income.
