Civil Engineering

Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Manitoba.

Our Department offers a fully accredited Civil Engineering program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Our modern curriculum covers all aspects of civil engineering (environmental, geotechnical, structures, transportation, and water resources). The Department also offers graduate programs leading to Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), Master of Science (M.Sc.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Civil Engineering.

Our faculty members are involved in cutting-edge research in many areas of Civil Engineering. The new EITC complex has provided our staff and students with first class research facilities. The department has strong interactions with industry and various levels of Government. We are proud to be the headquarters of ISIS Canada, a Network Centre of Excellence (NCE) for the Intelligent Sensing of Innovative Structures.
