Friends of Engineering


Established in May 2008, the Friends of Engineering are a unique group of top engineering industry leaders who share the University of Manitoba Faculty of Engineering's commitment to excellence in engineering education.

An external organization created to advance the Faculty's strategic development beyond what can be accomplished with public funding, the group is comprised of senior-level executives and leaders who understand the importance of a having a strong, mutually beneficial relationship between all sectors of the engineering profession and the world-class engineering school that serves its education and research needs.

Membership in the Friends of Engineering comes with tremendous value-added programs and events. We share knowledge, experience and opportunities with each other and with the leaders of tomorrow through our unique relationship with the Faculty.


  • To improve relations between the university and the engineering sector
  • To improve relations between engineering students and the engineering sector
  • To improve the engineering practice components of the engineering curriculum
