Martha began her career in education in the 1980s as a middle-school teacher in Ottawa. After receiving her PhD from the University of Ottawa in 2010, Martha completed a SSHRC postdoctoral fellowship at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education before joining the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba. She specializes in mathematics education and educational assessment.
