Thursday Feb. 22, 2018 5:50 – 9:30 pm
Sign up to participate in an evening excursion to visit the Canadian Museum for Human Rights located adjacent to The Forks in downtown Winnipeg. This national museum offers 113 exhibits galleries each focusing on aspects of human rights. The architecture of the Museum building, which opened in 2014, is also quite impressive. Museum facilitators will give a brief talk about the potential role of this museum in grades K-12 education and guide tours of some key exhibits for educators. Delegates will also have free time to explore the Museum after the tour.
If you wish to attend, be sure to add this option when you register for the conference. The fee for the excursion is $15.00. This includes bussing to and from all conference hotels, light snacks on the bus, entrance to the Museum, and a guided tour for educators. Delegates will be able to go for dinner (at their own expense) at one of the nearby restaurants at The Forks. You will find many affordable options with a variety of cuisines all located in the warm and casual setting at The Forks. Buses will depart from The Forks to return you to your hotel. A map with information will be included in your conference package.
