U of M - Dentistry - Continuing Professional Development

Continuing Professional Development

Early in 2011, the Faculty of Dentistry’s continuing education program merged with the Faculty of Medicine’s Division of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This merger provided a number of opportunities to expand the University of Manitoba’s portfolio for continuing dental education; a robust program for online courses, live programming, and hands-on courses.

The Division of CPD is currently conducting a provincial wide needs assessment to determine what topics dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants believe are the most important. The findings of the assessment will help us plan and deliver the kinds of programs which are in the greatest demand.

Please be assured that this is a major priority for the Faculty of Dentistry. We expect to have a calendar for continuing dental education published by April 2012.

If you would like to be contacted about upcoming educational activities, please contact Tanya Walsh, Program Administrator Med-Dent Joint Initiatives, in the office of CPD.

Ms. Walsh may be reached at 204.789.3457, or by email at tanya.walsh@med.umanitoba.ca.
