Fees must be received by the fee payment deadline or late fees will be assessed. Student accounts with outstanding balances at the end of the revision period (Fall/Winter) will be assessed a fee of $40.00 and may be subject to deregistration from their courses.

A non-refundable application fee (see umanitoba.ca/applynow) must be included with your Application for Admission. This fee may not be applied toward other course fees, and may be paid by separate cheque or money order, or credit card.
Unless otherwise noted, fees are charged based on the per credit hour rate for the faculty or school offering the course. The calculation of your tuition and other fees is made at the point of registration. Fees assessed for your current term of registration are available in Aurora Student. A complete record of fees assessed for all terms, as well as all payments you have made and your account balance is also in your Account Summary through Aurora Student.
Important: You will not be sent a fee statement in the mail. You are responsible for being aware of your fee balance and making payment prior to the deadline.
The University of Manitoba reserves the right to make changes without notice, as circumstances may require, including revisions to the fee structure and cancellation of courses.
Tuition fees will be waived if you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and reach age 65 by September 1 for Fall and Winter term and May 1 for Dist Ed Summer term, provided you have been admitted to the University and are eligible to register in a degree program or credit courses. In all other aspects, you are treated the same as other students and are expected to observe all course prerequisites and academic regulations.

The largest single source of financial assistance for undergraduate degree credit students is provided by the federal-provincial student aid program. These loans and grants are a form of supplemental aid which is available on the basis of assessed need. The main criteria include the cost of your educational program, your resources, and the resources of your family where applicable. The student aid program is administered by the provincial government.
You are encouraged to find out about your eligibility, regardless of whether you think you will receive student aid or not. Applications should be submitted as early as possible, at least two months prior to the beginning of the session/term.

When you have finished registering for your courses, you must request a fee assessment through Aurora Student. Look for your account summary under ‘Enrolment and Academic Records’. In addition to providing a statement of the total amount owing, you will also learn the amount that is due by term. Please ensure that you pay the correct term balance. A fee statement will not be mailed to you.
The deadline dates for fee payment are as follows:
Fall term fees - by 4:30 pm September 8, 2010
Winter term fees- by 4:30 pm January 6, 2011
Summer term fees - by 4:30 pm May 2, 2011

Students with outstanding balances after the published fee payment deadlines in Fall and Winter terms will be assessed a $50 late payment fee. Students who no longer wish to attend classes must complete the voluntary withdrawal procedure prior to the end of the revision period to receive a 100% refund. Balances outstanding at the end of the revision period may be subject to a $40 deregistration fee.
Overdue accounts for the Fall term will be placed on HOLD and students will be deregistered from Winter and/or Summer terms. Students will be held responsible for the Fall term balance.

Students on HOLD will be denied access to most administrative and academic services, including access to transcripts and libraries. Please refer to the 2010-11 Undergraduate Calendar for additional information.
Students in Summer term with outstanding balances after the fee deadline will be subject to late fees and will have their records and access to services placed on hold, but will not be subject to deregistration. You are responsible for any academic and financial consequences arising from your continued registration in a course
To withdraw from any course, or an entire program of studies, you must use Aurora Student. Students that stop submitting assignments rather than following the VW process, will continue to be registered and will be held accountable for all fees charged.
