My UMNetID- what is it and why do I need to claim it?
Your UMNetID is the personal sign-in name assigned to you as a current student at U of M. It is formed using a combination of the letters "um" and letters from your name. Your UMNetID is verified by entering a password that will be given to you when you go through the claimid process.
All of the computer technology benefits that are available through ANGEL and Jump require you to enter your UMNetID and password to access them. On-line registration, student e-mail, library resources, and more are available to you when you claim your UMNetID.
