WebCT Tools: Course Chat

Course chat is a course-specific tool that WebCT users can access to discuss their courses in a chat room format. WebCT chat is available to all students who are enrolled in courses with a WebCT component.

How do I access course chat?

1. Log on to WebCT and select the course you wish to access.
2. On the left menu, click on "Chat" under "Communication". You can also select the icon in the center of the homepage.
3. Click on the chat room that you wish to access.

How do I post a message?

1. Place the cursor in the compose message box by clicking on the white area labeled "Enter your message below".
2. Type your message in the compose message box.
3. When you are satisfied with your message, post it by pressing the "Enter" button on your keyboard.

How do I post a URL?

1. From your chat room browser, click on the button labeled "Send URL".
2. In the window that pops up, type in the URL that you wish to send.
3. When you are sure that the URL was entered correctly, click "Send".

How do I access course chat?

1. Login to WebCT and access your course.
2. On the left menu, click on "Chat" under "Communication". Alternatively, select the "Chat" icon on the course homepage.






3. Click on the chat room that you wish to access.

How do I post a message?
