HISTORY OF EASTERN CHRISTIANITY - RLGN 1350 (6 cr. hr.) – This course examines the general history of Eastern Christianity. It studies the doctrines, organization and spirituality of the various churches.

INTRODUCTORY UKRAINIAN - UKRN 1310 (6 cr. hr.) – Basic grammar, conversation, composition and reading. Emphasis is placed on communication skills. Cultural content is introduced through a range of audio-visual materials. (Shared with German and Slavic Studies.)

INTRODUCTION TO UKRAINE - HIST 2600 (3 cr.hr) - A history of Ukraine and its people beginning with Kyivan Rus’ and ending in the 18th century.

UKRAINIAN CANADIAN CULTURAL EXPERIENCE - UKRN 2410 (3 cr.hr) - A survey of Ukrainian folk culture in Canada: material culture, agricultural technology, rituals, verbal culture, music, and performing arts. The mechanics of continuity and change of the traditional culture in 20th century North American context will be explored.

MAKING OF MODERN UKRAINE - HIST 2610 (3 cr. hr.) – The history of cultural, religious, economic and political forces in the period 1800 to the present.

UKRAINIAN ARTS IN CANADA - UCHS 3100 (3 cr. hr.) - A study of varied aspects of artistic performance and production among Ukrainians in Canada, past and present: music, dance, cinema, fine arts, broadcasting, visual arts and architecture.

UKRAINIANS IN CANADA - HIST 3910 (3 cr. hr.) - A history of the Ukrainian community in Canada. Topics to be discussed will include immigration, social and political organizations, churches, cultural assimilation, Ukrainian contributions to Canada, and relations with Ukraine.
