Pre-MA students who wish to enter the MA program must submit to the Faculty of Graduate Studies an “Application for Admission to Faculty of Graduate Studies” form complete with letters of recommendation from two current English professors prior to the departmental deadline of January 5th.

Application Deadline

The deadlines for applications to be received in the Department of English, complete with all supporting documentation are:

• June 15th for Canadian applicants
• March 1st for International applicants.

Late applications will not be considered. 

Students are required to submit the following:

• complete Application For Admission Form and Application Fee;
• complete academic record and all the official transcripts;
• copy of birth certificate or passport (if applicable);
• notarized copy of marriage certificate or of other official evidence indicating name change (if applicable);
• two confidential letters of recommendation from professors under whom the student has previously worked (reference letter form);
• a sample of the student's scholarly/critical writing.
