Free Radio on the Internet:

Is it Impacting the Virtual Community?

-An Annotated Bibliography-

This is a relatively new subject that has received little to no scholarly attention. In fact to date only one Free Radio station exists on the Internet that broadcasts solely to the Internet for an online community.Although Free Radio on the Internet remains untouched by the literature, the idea of communication and identity for virtual communities is a topic that has gained a lot of attention since the early ethnographic work done on the Internet. In addition to this the examination of the impact of radio on the Internet both in an online and real context have begun to be explore by commercial and government agencies. However due to the absence of a body of literature the following annotated bibliography is divided into two relevant issue that were used to explore the impact of Free Radio on virtual communities, Free Radio and webcasting, and community and communication.
