University International Programs & Projects Seed Fund (UIPPSF)
The purpose of UIPPSF is to support faculty members in the development of new international initiatives that contribute towards the University’s International Strategy objectives for academic and research enhancement.

Total funding of $30,000 has been allocated for the UIPPSF, with up to $5,000 per award. Funds requested from UIPPSF must be matched by Department and/or Faculty. Additional funding from other sources, either internal or external to the University will also be desirable. Application Deadline: November 17, 2017 and March 2, 2018. The Canadian Institute for Advanced Research invites the global research community to submit proposals for new programs that address complex, fundamental questions of importance to the world. Ideas must be novel, bold, and potentially transformative to warrant the creation of a sustained, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research program. Letter of Interest deadline: January 21, 2018.

SSHRC Insight Grant Competition and Information Sessions

The 2017 SSHRC Insight Grant competition is now open. Application forms and instructions are available on-line.

A reminder that the Research Facilitators will be offering a voluntary panel review for Insight Grants. The deadline for the panel review is Friday, September 8th. Please email a PDF copy of your full application to Karen.schwartz@umanitoba.ca. No FAAF is required to participate.

The ORS deadline for Insight Grants is Friday, September 29th. Please provide a hard copy of your completed application form, together with a signed FAAF, to ORS at 540 Machray Hall by 4:00 pm.
